Ulysses D. Wagler

Ulysses D. Wagler, 73, of 1600 Summer St., died 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1988, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City.

Born Oct. 27, 1914, in Burlington, Kan., he was the son of Christian T. and Mary Huber Wagler. He married Delores J. Long May 20, 1960, in Keokuk.

He was employed as a driver with the fire department at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, before retiring. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Marcia Caldwell, Burlington, and Mary Wagler and Michelle Wagler, both at home; four brothers, Alvin P. Wagler, Robert James Wagler and Benjamin N. Wagler, all of Burlington, and Joseph Wagler, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Mathilda Frank, Central City; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel.

The service for Mr. Wagler will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Cancer Fund and the Apostolic Christian Church.
