Walter C. Luth

Walter C. Luth, 92, of Rt. 3, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born June 13, 1891, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Frederick and Hannah Riepe Luth. He married Adella Timmerman on Feb. 28, 1924, in Latty.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. John United Church of Christ.

Surviving: The wife; three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Carpenter, East Hannibal, Ill., Mrs. Eileen Wasson, West Memphis, Ark., and Mrs. Selma Mace, Rt. 3 Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Reif, Mediapolis, and Katie Luth, Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday, Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Claire Marvel; St. John Cemetery. A memorial has been established at St. John United Church of Christ.
