Claude Walker

Claude Kaster Walker, 81, 1108 Parkway drive, died Monday, Aug. 31, at the Park Manor Nursing home, at 6 p.m.

He was born July 20, 1889, in Des Moines county, the son of Thomas and Synthia Kaster Walker, and married Eva L. Downer Feb. 27, 1912. She died June 18, 1916. January 9, 1924, he married Elnora Brum, who died Feb. 20, 1953.

A self-employed painter, Mr. Walker was a Methodist and a charter member of the Moose lodge and past govenor of the Moose. He had received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, highest Moose award. He also belonged to the Senior Citizens and the Hawkeye Natives.

Surviving: A daughter Mrs. J. Warren Harrison, with whom he lived; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Thursday, 1:30 p.m., Prugh's chapel; Rev. George Thompson; Kossuth cemetery.
