NEW LONDON - Melvin William Schroeder, 69, New London, formerly of Danville, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 19 (1982) at Burlington Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 11, 1912, near Danville, to Charles and Ida Mae Westerbeck Schroeder. He married Regina Rothlauf, July 16, 1945, at Quincy, Ill.
Mr. Schroeder was a retired farmer and former owner of A-C Implement Co. of Danville. He was a member of the Danville Congregational-United Church of Christ.
Surviving: his wife; two sons, Donald W., Muscatine, and Robert M., Danville; a daughter, Connie S. Faidley, Kingston; a sister, Mabel Johnson, Burlington; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Danville Congregational-United Church of Christ, the Rev. Clyde Norrgard and Mr. Robert Dodds; Jaggar Cemetery. Iowa Easter Seal and Iowa Cancer Fund memorials have been established at the Elliott Chapel, New London.
