Marie M. McLaughlin

Marie M. McLaughlin, 88, of Mediapolis, died 8:45 p.m. Monday, July 4, 1988, at the St. Francis Continuation Care Center.

Born Feb. 9, 1900, in DeWitt, she was the daughter of M. J. and Mary Ellen Denahy Mackin. She married Lawrence Edward McLaughlin Sept 10, 1924, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Burlington. He died Aug. 21, 1967.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dodgeville.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Mary (Floyd) Laue, West Burlington, Kathleen McLaughlin, Mediapolis, Mrs. Jane (Ralph) Siefken, Burlington, Mrs. Martha (Stan) Hogan, Des Moines, and Mrs. Margaret (Neale) Bellamy, St. Cloud, Minn.; four sons, Harold McLaughlin, Pascagoula, Miss., Charles McLaughlin, Fond Du Lac, Wis., and James F. McLaughlin and John J. McLaughlin, both of Mediapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Marcella Whalen, Sr. Mary Gregory Mackin and Mrs. Alice Sheridan, all of Burlington, and Srs. Mary Berchmans Mackin and Mary Bernadine Mackin, both of Dubuque; 43 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will follow a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel.

The service for Mrs. McLaughlin will be 10:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dodgeville, with the Revs. Philip Cardenzano and John Whalen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dodgeville.

A memorial has been established for St. Mary's Catholic Church.
