Sophie Marie Brookshire

Mrs. Sophie Marie Brookshire, 59, of 404 S. Church, Thomasboro, Ill., died at the Rantoul Air Force Base Hospital, Rantoul, Ill., Saturday, Feb. 1, the day after her husband, Milton A. Brookshire, was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.

She was born in Des Moines County May 23, 1926, to Lawrence and Sophie Hanson Thomson. She and Mr. Brookshire were married in Burlington, March 9, 1952.

Mrs. Brookshire was a member of the Congregational Church.

Surviving: A son, Dwayne, Thomasville; her parents, Lawrence and Sophie Thomson, Burlington: a brother, Lawrence Thomson Jr., Burlington; and two sisters, Katherine Neal, Sperry, and Pauline Smith, Burlington.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Prugh's Chapel: Memorial Park Cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Sophie Marie Brookshire, who passed away February 1, 1986, at Rantoul, Illinois, will be held in Prugh's Chapel at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel between seven and 8:30 o'clock Thursday evening.
