Margie Ann Broeg

Margie Ann Broeg, 76, of Burlington died at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Blair House in Burlington.

Born June 20, 1932, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ira and Lois Andrews Wagler. On Dec. 15, 1951, she married Richard H. Broeg in Amarillo, Texas. He died Sept. 19, 1960.

Mrs. Broeg was a clerk at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, retiring in 1975. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and Burlington School of Business. She enjoyed working in her yard, bingo, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing piano.

Survivors include one daughter, Melodie Marmion of Wever; one son, Roger Broeg of Topeka, Kan.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry Wagler of Columbus Junction and Lawrence Eugene Wagler of Morning Sun Care Center.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Broeg will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Shaw officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
