Charles P. Roding, 74, of 616 South Sixth street, died there early today after a long illness.
Mr. Rodin had been blind more than eight years. Born in Sweden, Nov. 21, 1859, he had lived since 1881, and prior to his retirement was a ______son.
He was married in Burlington in 1881 to Johanna Westlund. He was a member of the Royal Neighbors and of Messiah Lutheran church.
The widow, two sons, Guy of Burlington and Gus of Davenport,Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Duden, Lapairie(sic), Ill. and Mrs. John Rowley of Burlington, survive. Also surviving are 15 granchildren. A daughter and four sons preceded him in death, one son being killed in action in France during the World war.
Services will be held at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. A.D.____, pastor of the Messiah church officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
