Velva D. Brakeville, 89, of Dallas City, Ill., died at 11:43 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 1991, in the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe.

Born April 14, 1902, in Aliceville, Kan., she was the daughter of J. Wells and Edna Isenberger Davis. She married Frederick Brakeville April 21, 1920. He died Feb. 21, 1981.

Her family moved to Niota, Ill, in 1912 and she spent most of her life in this area. She was a member of the AARP, the Dallas City First Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship of the church.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Brakeville, Sarasota, Fla., Beverley Brakeville, Burlington and Richard Brakeville, Cedar Park, Texas; three daughters, Audrey Niedenthal, Dixon, Mo., Mildred Cooper, Fort Madison,and Nancy Burrow, Ranger, Texas; one brother, Maurice Davis, Stockport; 27 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.

Friends may call at Banks and Beals Funeral Home, Dallas City, after 3p.m. today, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Calling hours will be until 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral for Mrs. Brakeville will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Dallas City First Christian church with the Rev. Arnie Brevick officiating. Burial will be in the Harris cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Dallas City First Christian Church.
