Floyd Rice

Former Kingston resident, Floyd Leonard Rice of Lovington, N.M. died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Lovington Hospital. He was 69.

Mr. Rice was born Nov. 16, 1916, at Kingston, the son of George and Lena Brown Rice. His wife, Cynthia, preceded him in death.

He worked for many years at Dairy Equipment Manufacturing Co. of Chicago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are four brothers, Lester Rice of Lovington, N.M., Howard and Paul Rice, both of Kingston, and Lawrence Rice of rural Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Erma Holcomb of Liberal, Kan., Mrs. Evelyn Heckethorne of Danville, Mrs. Martha Mellinger of Burlington; several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Rice will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis with the Rev. Harold Werley officiating.
