DYERSVILLE, Iowa - LeRoy J. Funke, 85, of 405 Eighth Ave., Dyersville, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 9:10 a.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.

Friends and relatives of LeRoy may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Services for LeRoy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, with the Rev. Noah Diehm presiding. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville.

LeRoy was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Sandsprings, son of Otto and Emma (Deutmeyer) Funke. On Oct. 6, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lois G. Faley at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dubuque.

He was employed in the sales department for Sherrman Implement in Dyersville until his retirement. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville, Iowa.

He is survived by three children, Ronald Funke, of Dubuque, Gerald (Carol) Funke, of Hiawatha, and Victoria (Tom) McGeehan, of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren, Brenda Funke, of Dallas, Cheryl (Kevin) McColley, of Ankeny, and Kyle McGeehan, of Arlington; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Chloe; two siblings, Marilyn (Roger) Mescher, of Dyersville, and Dennis (Jean) Funke, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Funke, on Oct. 13, 2012; two sisters, Norma and Vila; and brothers, David and Robert.
