Luella "Lue" Disch, 84, of 3816 Andrea St., died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a Resurrection Parish Christian wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1915, in Sherrill, Iowa, daughter of Adam and Emma (Banwarth) Tigges. She married Albert Disch on Sept. 14, 1937, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill; he died Sept. 26, 1991.

She resided in Dubuque from 1933 to 1961, when she moved to Dyersville. She returned to Dubuque in 1987. She was a member of Resurrection Parish, St. Francis Xavier Rosary Society, Tri-County Senior Citizens, Tri-County Coachman Camping Club and the Eagles Card Club. She enjoyed bus trips and card playing.

Surviving are a son, Joe (Patty) Disch, of De Witt, Iowa; four daughters, Theresa Heim, of Dubuque, Joan (Otto) Eiffes, of New Richmond, Wis.; and Diane (Carl) Metz and Norma (Jerry) Meyer, both of Dubuque; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren and 24 step- great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorraine Weiland and Martha Weiland, both of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lou Nachtmann, on Oct. 22, 1977, and Judith Disch, on July 19, 1970; three brothers, Florian Sr. in 1973, Oswin "Ozzie" in 1976, and Raymond in 1981; a sister, Rosella "Sally" in 1989; a granddaughter, Dawn Meyer in 1982; and a special friend, Leonard Brehm in 2000.

In lieu of flowers, a Luella Disch Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to extend deep gratitude to Dr. Schmid, the Pastoral Care and medical-pediatrics staffs of Mercy Medical Center, Marilyn and staff of Mercy Home Care and the staff of Sunset Park.
