Carol Jeanne Bandy, 58, of Dundee, Iowa, died at her home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 22, 2012. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. October 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manchester, Iowa, with visitation being from 2 to 8 p.m. October 25, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester. Interment was at the Forrestville Cemetery, rural Dundee, Iowa.

Carol Jeanne Bandy was born on February 27, 1954, at Hazelton, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Wiley) Staack. Carol and her family resided at Mount Vernon and then Lisbon. When she was a junior, they moved to Strawberry Point. Carol was a 1972 Starmont graduate.

On November 24, 1972, Carol was united in marriage to Jim Bandy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Three children were born to this union. Together they lived and farmed near Dundee. Carol also worked with A to Z Snacks in Dundee.

Carol loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing, especially her annual family trip to Chetek, Wisconsin. Carol was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of Dundee; 3 children, John (Michele) Bandy of Dundee, Lori (Wade) Schmelzer of Dubuque, and Jill (Kurt) Peyton of Dundee; 9 grandchildren; 3 siblings, Marjorie (Bill) Irving of Madison, Wisconsin, Kay (Lou) Bottelman, of Ryan, and John (Bonnie) Staack of Strawberry Point.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
