Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., August 28, 2012 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa, for Travis Paul Heyer, 45, of Manchester, Iowa, who died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m., August 27, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory in Manchester, Iowa, with friends being able to call one hour before the service. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Manchester.

Travis Paul Heyer was born on September 20, 1966, in Manchester, the son of Jerald and Joan (Lahr) Heyer. Travis was raised and educated in the area and attended West Delaware High School.

Travis was united in marriage to Jennifer Smock in 1989 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. One daughter was born to this union. They later divorced.

Travis resided in Manchester and was employed by Don’s Standard and later worked 24 years for Barron Motor Supply.

His hobbies and enjoyments were hunting, fishing, fixing cars, race cars, and especially his Corvette.

Survivors include his daughter, Taylor Heyer of Manchester; his parents, Jerald and Joan Heyer of Manchester; his paternal grandmother, Helen Heyer of Manchester; one sister, Teresa Allison of Manchester; his special friend, Jeni (Blondie) Schmidt of Elkader; and his faithful black Lab companion, Bud, who went everywhere with Travis.

Travis was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pete and Irene Lahr; and his paternal grandfather, Vernon (Buster) Heyer.
