Obituary of Geo Nordman, 78, Passes Away

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the St. John's Lutheran Church for George Nordman, 78, who passed away Thursday, March 23, 1950, after suffering a stroke of apoplexy at his home, March 13. He passed away at the hospital in Monticello.
George H. Nordman was born June 27, 1871 at Friedeburg, Ostfriesland, Germany, the son of Bernhard and Anna Nordman. He came to America when he was a fifteen year old boy, obtaining work on several farms around Monticello and Hopkinton. The people he worked for taught him the English language. Later in life he became a naturalized citizen.
Mr. Nordman was an honest, industrious man, who worked hard and conscientiously all his life. In May 1898, he was united in marriage to Etta Jane Dalrymple. They were parents on one daughter, Mrs. Esther Neil. They have always made their home in and near Hopkinton.
His wife preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Mrs. Esther Neil, two grandsons, Robert and Ronald Neil. One sister, Bernhardine Johnston (or Janssen) of Germany, also survives.
Pall-bearers were: Marshall Neil, Cletus Sauser, Lewis Ireland, Roy Marolf, Russell Saunders and Will Reggentine.
