Edgewood: Funeral services for Irma Maxon Way were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist church in Edgewood, with the Revs. Thomas Lentz and Feller officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery. The Appleton funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 4, 1898, in Edgewood, a daughter of Christian C. and Effie Robbins. She passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Delaware County Memorial hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was a 1915 graduate of Edgewood high school. Following college training, she engaged in teaching for a proffesion for 11 years. She and Lee Way were married Sept. 12, 1928. They farmed for a period of years in the Edgewood vicinity, later working in Cedar Rapids, until they retired and moved to the house of her birthplace.
Mrs. Way was a member of the United Methodist church, taught Sunday school and held offices in local and district WSCS. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and first Mother Advisor of the Edgewood Rainbow Assembly.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Vance (Maribeth) Daker of Edgewood and Mrs. Robert (Myrna) McDonough of Salem, Ill.
