Elmer Manson
Elmer A. Manson, 82, of Manchester died Wednesday, Sept 16, at the Riverside Care Center in Guttenburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Delaware, with burial in Pineview cemetery. Military rites were accorded at the graveside by the Manchester American Legion Post No. 45. A grandson, Tim Manson of Guttenburg, played the taps. The Clifton funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Feb. 9, 1888, at Delhi, a son of Olaf and Christina Hakanson Manson. He attended the rural schools of the county.
Mr. Manson served in France during World War I and was united in marriage with Emma Swanson June 16,1920, at Algona. They farmed in Delaware county.
Survivors are his wife; four sons, Leonard L. of Clear Lake, Harold L. of Mountain, N.D., Kenneth L. of Guttenburg, Elmer A. Jr. of Earlville; sixteen grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hilma Yelden of Strawberry Point, and a brother, Edward Manson of Morgan Hill, Calif.
