Edward A. Brown
Edward A. Brown, 78, of Manchester, lifelong resident of Delaware county, died at the Delaware County Memorial hospital Thursday morning following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in th Bohnenkamp funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Kamper officiating. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.
A son of Dietrich and Jane Helm Brown, he was born June 24, 1892. He received his education in the rural schools of Delaware county and worked as a painter and carpenter.
Mr. Brown married Aug. 5, 1915, to Lurahamah Hansel.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Beam Felderman and Mrs. Harold (Viola) Irons, both of Manchester, and Mrs. Lester (Maxine) Wessels of Lamont; seven sons, Raymond of Lamont, Harland of Independence, Melvin of Dayton, Ohio, Duane of Pompano Beach, Florida, Lloyd and Richard, both of Manchester, and James of Springville; thirty-nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Graham of Manchester, and Mrs. Matilda Mosher of Monticello, Minn., and one brother, Albert of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
