George V. Oehler
Delhi: George V. Oehler was born on a farm east of Delhi Dec. 30, 1894, and passed away June 13 at the Oak Park hospital at Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. June 17 at St. Sylvester church and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery at Chicago.
Mr. Oehler attended school at Delhi and went to Chicago where he was employed as an iron worker. His employer enlisted with the entire crew of 13 men in the U.S. Navy during World War I and they were sent to France where they built aerial towers and they all returned home safely. Mr Oehler continued working for the city and retired six years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Kamin Oehler, whom he married June 26, 1948, and four sisters.
