Dorothy Mignon Rardin Rauch, daughter of Stephen D. and Dollie Walker Rardin, was born at Ridgeway, Missouri January 27, 1903. She passed away August 20, 1979 at Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

In June 1922, she was married to Earl Rauch. To this union one son, Rardin, was born.

Dorothy has lived most of her life in Lamoni; was a member of the Methodist Church serving in many local and area capacities; and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy had a love for the beauties of nature and spent many happy hours in the hobby of birdwatching.

After the death of her husband, she and her son continued to live in the home until her health failed; she then moved to the Lamoni Manor where she resided for nearly three years.

Survivors include her son, Rardin, of the home; nephews: Paul Rardin of Layton, Utah; Marion of Boise, Idaho; and cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lincoln of Cainsville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service was held August 23, 1979 at the Lamoni United Methodist Church with the Slade Funeral Home, Leon, Iowa in charge. Officiating were the Reverends Dale Gray and David Leeper. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with a ceremony by the Order of Eastern Star.
