Funeral services for Gordon Keith Bell, 71, of Odebolt were at 10 a.m. Monday 1 Feb 1993 in the Evangelical Free Church in Arthur. He died Friday 29 January 1993 at Odebolt. The Rev. Robert Lundberg officiated with burial in the Hayes Township Cemetery. The American Legion, McNamara-Moore Post 61 offered military rites. The Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home of Odebolt was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bell was born 20 Sept 1921 at Mount Zion, son of Clay H. and Avonia (Hendrixen) Bell. He graduated from Des Moines North High School in 1939 and attended the Chillicothe (Missouri) Business College. He married Louise Garrett 5 Nov 1941 in Des Moines. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an agent/operator for the Chicago Rock Island and pacific Railroad for 30 years in Pella, Keosauqusa, Walnut and Colfax and then retired to a farm outside of Ida Grove. He was a member of the Arthur Evangelical Free Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include: his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Cynthia) Warrick of Carrollton, Ky.; three sons, Gordon Jr. Bell of West Des Moines, Kenneth Bell of Warrensburg, Mo. and Jon Bell of Arthur; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a step-grand-daughter; and a sister, Carmen Kinker of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by a brother, James.
