The remains of Mrs. Christina Anderson, who passed away on Sunday June 29th, at the home of her son, Anthon, at Boone, were shipped to Kiron last Tuesday to be buried in the family lot in the Kiron cemetery. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from the Mission church, conducted by Rev. H. A. Sundberg and were attended by a number of friends and former neighbors of the deceased.

Mrs. Anderson (Andersdotter) was born in Dalarna, Sweden, Dec 22, 1826, and at the age of 22 years was married to Andrew Anderson, and together they came to America in the year 1868 and located on the 80 acre homestead two and a half miles southeast of Kiron now owned by Hy Gierman. In the year 1871 her husband passed away, she continuing to reside on the farm until after a few years of existence of the town of Kiron when she moved to town, where she resided up until four years ago when, owing to old age and feebleness, her son, Anthon, took her to his home in Boone to minister the aid and care she needed during her remaining years. She passed away at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 7 days, satisfied to go after so long a voyage and pilgrimage.

Her death is mourned by her son and family at Boone, and other relatives and friends. Five children have preceded her into the quiet rest beyond. A number of her grandchildren and their families, residing in Woodbury county, autoed to Kiron to attend the funeral. Mrs. Anderson was one of the early pioneers of this settlement and had to endure the intense hardships and privations of those days. She was a member of the Adventist church and was a devout Christian, a woman of strong, sturdy character.
