According to the 1880 Clinton census, my Great Grandmother Kate Griffin, 13 yrs. old, was listed as "servant" in the household of David Hess. Ellener Hess (wife), Oscar Hess (son), Marriette Hess (dau), Charles Mutchler (hired man), Edward Millburn, 14 yrs old, (other male) were also listed as members of the household. I am seeking information about these people. Specifically, I am seeking the names of Kate Marthaellen Griffins' birth parents. She came to Clinton Iowa on the Orphan Train, or perhaps a Mercy Train. I would like to find the date of her arrival in Iowa. Thank you.
