According to federal census records, Edward F. Wedge was born in South Dakota and per the Social Security Death Index, he was born on August 3, 1912.
I checked the South Dakota Birth Index and located his birth registration #83516, filed on August 7, 1912. Edward Wedge born on August 3, 1912 in Minnehaha County [Sioux Falls] to Frank Wedge and Ellen Bernard. Further census records enumerate him in Rock County, Minnesota with his grandparents before he moved to Clinton, Iowa.
His father, Frank Wedge [Franklin Percival Wedge] was born March 24, 1888 and died March 16, 1959 in Minnesota.
Edward Wedge married Laura June Tucker on April 1, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. Her obituary follows:

January 16, 2006June T. Wedge, 84, of Clinton passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Christ Episcopal Church, 238 4th Ave. South, Clinton. The Rev. Sue Eades will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton. Lemke Funeral Home North Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 20, 1921 in Clinton to George F. and Laura June (Hollis) Tucker. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1937. On April 1, 1939 she married Edward F. Wedge in Clinton. She was employed at the Garment Factory, Nielsens, and was a cashier at Reynolds Restaurant. She was a lifetime member of Christ Episcopal Church, formerly St. John’s, Daughters of the King, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors Camp, Laubach Literacy Program and she taught adults to read. She had a love of quilting.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Jo (Mike) Johnson of Bettendorf, Carole L. Craig of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Elizabeth (Bill) Bulat of Rock Island, Illinois, Laura Loerzel of Davenport, one son Edward Wedge, Jr., of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Donna, Jennifer, Darrin, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Jessie; four great-grandchildren, B.J., Carmen, Jackie and Kaitlyn, one niece and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her parents and one grandson, Edward Wedge III.
