Kolb's of Iowa

KOLB, GUILLIMEN, GULLIMEN

Am looking for Otto Kolb who owned a private sanitarium, I believe in Iowa. He was probably from Germany and had married a M. Guillimen. They had Otto Freemont Kolb, born in Lyon, Iowa abt 1858. M. Guillimen later married a Brenner. Prior to that marriage she owned/ran a brewery/public house. Evidently, the Iowa state birth records begin in 1880 and am un sure how to find birth records prior to that. Help please.
