Hass-1876 murder

Hi,

I'm looking for an obit or information about my gggrandfather, John (Johann) M. Hass. He emigrated in 1869 from Germany and arrived in Clinton Co around 1870.He was working as a guard at a local cemetery in 1876 when he was murdered by grave robbers. I'm looking for any info about him or his family (wife was Dora Cristina Veshoff (Westhoff).)
