My grandfather, Warren Charles I. REED (1891-1973), lived in Clinton from 1916 until his death. I have a copy of his obituary and death record and have checked his residences in the Clinton directory. I'd like to know if there are other resources which might have information about him. I won't be surprised to learn that he was a ne'er-do-well. My father and his younger siblings were taken out of the home in 1921 and permanently placed in the Iowa Soldiers Orphans Home (Annie Wittenmeyer Home) in Davenport. Nonetheless, I'd appreciate any help anybody can give me. I'm also looking for sign of my grandmother, Mary RATCLIFF (adopted name WELLS) REED who seems to have left my grandfather shortly after the children were removed from the home.
