Henry Rudolph NAGEL b 20 Jul 1855 Holstein, Ger. md 1 Jan 1891 in Wheatland, Clinton Co., IA. to Elizabeth FICKE (b 27 Aug 1865 in Long Grove, Scott co., IA). Looking for info on Henry's parents, Thies NAGEL (b about 1813 Holstein, Ger) and Catherine NAGEL (b about 1830 Holstein). Parents lived in Pike, Muscatine co. in 1880. Thies and Henry were naturalized in 1876 in Scott Co.,IA. They were both in the flour milling business. Henry moved to Bushnell, IL. later to work in his brother's (John Danial) flour mill. Have no record of Thies after 1880. Have found a Katherina NAGEL in the 1900 census of Bluff pct, Monroe Co, IL. Not sure if this is our Catherine or not. The statistics match for her age, year & place of birth, but not sure of the year of immigration. She is living with a son (Friedrich NAGEL) & his family there (note: her youngest son matches this same Friedrich). Also note that in 1880 there was another Thies Nagel living in Pike twp., Muscatine Co, IA. but he was a "carpenter".
