Help locating info about Paul Struve

STRUVE

I am seeking help in locating information about PAUL STRUVE. I believe he was born in Clinton County but don't know when or where.

The following is an article from the Des Moines Register dated July 22, possibly 1918 or 1919.

"Clinton county paid a splendid tribute of respect to Paul Struve, the first of its soldiers to be brought back from the battlefields of France, where he fell in the world war. American Legion men in particular honored their dead comrade.

His body was brought to Clinton Tuesday morning by Mechanic Otto Allen of the aviation department of the United States army. The funeral was held at Lyons.

During the service at Oakland cemetery, Aviator Shaffer, in the airplane Oriole, hovered over the grave, dropping flowers.

Paul Struve was a private in the Third casual company. He was buried with full military honors."

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been through the listings in the Clinton County cemeteries but found no Oakland listed. The only other info I have is his marriage to Emma Meier on 2/6/1918.
