Marilyn, The publication "American Place Names of Long Ago", authored by Gilbert S. Bahn, lists Almont as an express office with a population of 75. This data was compiled by Mr. Bahn from the 1890 census before it was destroyed. How an express office differs from a post office I have no idea but just thought I'd throw this info out there. Dick
