ELKADER — Benedict James O’Meara, 87, of Elkader, Iowa, died January 25, 2009, at home of kidney failure. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elkader, with Rev. Paul Peters as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27th at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader, and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. There will be a rosary recited at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.Death date: Jan. 25, 2009
