MORRISON, Ill. — Donna R. Van Osdol, 66, of Morrison, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL, with the Rev. Michael Selburg, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials will be established by the family. She was born April 18, 1942, in Morrison, IL, to Howard G. and Lillian (Beveroth) Zuidema. Donna was educated in Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1960 graduate of Morrison High School. She married Robert L. Van Osdol Jr. on July 16, 1961, in Morrison, IL. He survives. She was first employed by the former KEM Apparel Shop, Morrison, IL. Later she was employed as a secretary by the Volckmann Furniture Factory, Morrison, IL. Following that she worked for the Pittenger’s Clothing Store, Morrison, IL. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Morrison, IL; served as nursery coordinator and as a deacon. She was an avid walker and loved time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her life was filled with family gatherings, nurturing parenting and she was dedicated to helping elderly friends. Donna has many close friendships, which she cherished dearly. She shined with courage, integrity and humor while facing her battle with cancer. Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Debbie (Guy) Perry of Davenport, IA, and Susan (Keith) Wiersema of Morrison, IL; one son, Steve Van Osdol of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan Wiersema and Jennifer Perry; one sister, Shirley Betts of Morrison, IL; one brother, Dave (Charel) Zuidema of Morrison, IL; one brother-in-law, John (Barb) Van Osdol of Sterling, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
