FULTON, Ill. — Robert (Bob) Temple, age 84, of Fulton, Illinois, died early Saturday morning, January 3, at Resthave Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, Illinois, on Wednesday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home (North) in Clinton, Iowa. Additional visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to funeral service. Bob was born on August 8, 1924, in Garden Plain, the son of George D. and Carrie (DeWeerdt) Temple. He graduated from Erie High School in 1943 and married Helen Merema on September 18, 1946, in Fulton. Bob farmed in the rural Fulton area. Later, he owned an agriculture supply business in Garden Plain and another ag business in Illinois City, Illinois. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church and a former member of the Church Men’s League. Bob is survived by Helen, his wife of 62 years; a daughter, Kathy (Phil) Schipper of Algonquin, Illinois; and a son, Randy (Kathie) Temple of Monticello, IL. Also four grandchildren, Matt (Angie) Temple, Matt Schipper, Andy Hill, Hollie (Heath) Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Temple, Addisyn Wilson. Pallbearers will be Steve Merema, Matt Temple, Matt Schipper, Bernard Merema, Dean Harrision and Heath Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Damhoff, Don Damhoff and Andy Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial fund has been established. Death date: Jan. 3, 2009
