MORRISON, Ill. — Ellsworth F. Stralow, 89, of Morrison, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, with Pastor Bob Burton, Bethesda Lutheran Church, officiating.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison. Memorials can be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, and Mercy Hospice, Clinton.He was born November 18, 1919, in Morrison, to William and Lillian (Wolber) Stralow. Ellsworth was educated in the Center Grade School of rural Whiteside County. He was a 1939 graduate of Morrison High School, Morrison. He married Mary Jane Leseman on September 10, 1950, in Sterling, Ill. She died January 23, 2000. He first engaged in farming in the rural Morrison area and then was employed by Herman Nelson Manufacturing, Morrison, Whiteside County Highway Department, the former Wilkens Royal Blue Grocery Store, Morrison, and most recently the Illinois State Highway Department, Morrison, until retirement. Following retirement, he was employed part time by the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home as a driver and funeral director’s assistant from 1985 until 2000. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. Ellsworth enjoyed fishing, gardening and bowling. He was an avid White Sox Fan. Survivors include a daughter, Diane (Larry) Tichler, of Morrison; a son, Duane (Arnette) Stralow of Rock Falls, Ill.; four grandchildren, Ashley Tichler, Nathan (Angie Voss) Stralow, Brianne (Shawn) Price and Megan Stralow; a great-grandchild, Dawson Price; and a sister.
