CLINTON — Edith McDonald, age 92, of Clinton, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Eagle Point Rehabilitation Center. A private visitation and funeral services will be held at Lemke Funeral Homes with Pastor James Machen officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Bahnsen, Keith McDonald, Keith Thomsen, Steve Hagge, Jeff and Shane Dierks. A memorial has been established. Edith was born on March 16, 1916 in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Ethel and Ezekeil Gorsuch. She married Lloyd McDonald on Nov. 24, 1932, Thanksgiving Day, in Clinton, IA. She attended Marion Schools. She worked at the Garment factory, Burpees and also owned and operated the Fashion Dress Shop in Lyons. Edith is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joan (Kenneth) Hagge of Las Vegas, NV, Mrs. Marilyn Thomsen of Low Moor, IA, Mrs. Darline (Robert) Dierks and Janet Bahnsen both of Clinton; She is survived by 21 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother and grandmother, most of all. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. “She lived for her family.” She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Eugene, and five sisters.Death date: Dec. 30, 2008
