MOLINE, Ill. — Gerald “Jerry” L. Law, 71, of Moline, IL, formerly of Savanna, IL is resting peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday January 13, 2009, at The Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, IL. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 11:00AM at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, IL., with visitation an hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be given to his favorite charities. Cremation rites have been accorded and The Runge Mortuary is handling arrangements.Gerald was born March 28, 1937, in Savanna, IL, to Lawrence Sr. and Melvia (Solt) Law. He graduated from Savanna Township High School in 1955. He was a licensed Independent Insurance Broker with many designations including his C.I.C. (Certified Insurance Counselor). He married Janice Helle in 1957 and they later divorced. She preceded him in death.He worked at Flex -Steel in Savanna, IL. He later opened his own Independent Insurance Agency in Mt. Carroll, IL. After many successful years he sold the business and worked at Clausen Hardware in Clinton and S and S Builders in Davenport. His biggest enjoyments were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the last 6 years in Algoma, WI, near the lake and recently moved back to the Q.C. to spend time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to pull a good prank on his friends anytime he could. He was considered a real jokester.Survivors include a son, Steve (Cindy) Law, DeWitt; two daughters, Debbie (Devin) Heber, Moline and Julie (Jim) Draper, Shelby, MI; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Jr. (Shirley) Law, Clinton and Kenneth Law, Seffner, Fl; nieces, nephews, cousins and his special friend, Sheryl Taylor, Kewaunee, WI.He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.Online condolences and tributes may be made at, www.mem.com.Death date: Jan. 13, 2009
