CLINTON — Harold R. Kaim, 58, of Clinton, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Jennifer Henry officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9:30 a.m. to the service time Saturday at the church. Following the services the body will be cremated. Harold Robert Kaim was born on August 22, 1950, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Richard and Eva (Plutchak) Kaim. He married Cindy Gray on June 19, 1999, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Harold was a 1968 graduate of Bettendorf High School. He also attended Blackhawk College and various technical seminars. Harold was most recently employed with American TV and Appliance in Davenport as an appliance technician. Previous employers included Alliant Energy and Turner Appliance. Harold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a volunteer fireman while he lived in Florida. He enjoyed fishing, working on various projects, watching sports with his wife and son, Matt, playing golf and being on the computer. Harold is survived by his wife, Cindy Gray-Kaim of Clinton; one son, Matt Gray at home; his children and grandchildren from a previous marriage, Nikita (Dan) Kaim of Clinton; Jessica Strickland of Davenport, Florida, Tom Kaim of Clinton and Vladmir and Lucy Kaim; his brother, Frank (Laura) Kaim of Seaside, Oregon; four sisters, Pat Zirkelbach of Clinton, Roberta (Neil) Usselman of Sequim, Washington, Mary (Dennis) Thompson of Davenport, and Renee (Neil) Silvers of Arroyo Grande, California; and several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that memorials be made to the Lymphoma Society, Mercy Hospice or the Clinton Humane Society.
