The Clinton Herald Saturday August 25, 1928 p. 8 Fritz Brandenburg, age 75 years, died suddenly Friday afternoon at his home, 1339 Twenty-third avenue, North, at 5:15 o’clock. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home, followed by services at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran church. The Rev. Carl Hesse will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery. Deceased was born in Pommeran, Germany, January 11, 1853. His marriage to Miss Minnie Wahl took place in Germany, August 9, 1873. Forty-five years ago they came to this country and located in Clinton county. They moved to this city twenty years ago where they have since resided. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.S. Wilke of this city, and Mrs. T.A. Martinsen of Bryant, a son, John Brandenburg of Chadwick, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Fritz Gielow, of near this city and one brother, John Brandenburg of this city; twenty-three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A son, Fritz Brandenburg, preceded him in death just a year ago. Deceased was well known in this city and Clinton county. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran church.
