The Clinton Herald Monday July 28, 1975 p. 10 Mrs. Elizabeth C. Gassman, 86, of 524 First Ave., died Sunday in Mercy Hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church prededed by a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at Delaney Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a parish Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. The former Elizabeth Christine Klein was born Nov. 1, 1888, in Balltown, the daughter of John and Christina Schermea Klein. She married Joseph Gassman Oct. 11, 1912. He died in 1953. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include two sons, James F., Clinton, and George, Iowa City; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Desjardins, and Mrs. Mae Bienlein, Los Angeles, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, and one daughter.
