MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Vern Hupfer, 42, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Schultz funeral home and the Methodist church. Officers of the O.E.S. of which she was a past matron, had charge of the services at the funeral home, and the service at the church was conducted by the Rev. E. W. Hilmer, pastor, assisted by the Rev. A. Ebert, pastor of the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mrs. Hupfer died at her home Saturday, Feb. 28 after several weeks illness. The former Velma Clark was born near McGregor on Feb. 11, 1911. She graduated from the Monona high school in 1928. On June 27, 1939 she was married to Vern Hupfer.

Surviving are her husband and one son, Edward.
