DIED - At camp Franklin, Dubuque, Iowa, October 7th, of constipation of the bowels, Fitz James McKay, a Sargent in the 38th regiment Iowa Volunteers.
Mr. McKay will be remembered by many of our readers as an occasional poetic contributor to the columns of this paper. He was a man of fine poetic temperament, and some of his productions have attracted much attention. He was, at the time of enlistment, editor of the "Star of the West," at New Oregon.
He was brave and chivairic, but has fallen a victim to a sad disease.
