Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Hanson were held at the St. Mary's church, Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Patrick J. Boyle. The casketbearers were Joe Scheckel, Elmer Scheckel, Paul Olinger, Leon Olinger, Wesley Dillon and Claire Dillon. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
As Margaret Schrieber, daughter of John and Theresa Schrieber, was born Dec. 23, 1871 at Schanfelt, Bavaria, Germany and died Tuesday at 12:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Yonda at Lamoni from a heart attack. She went there with her daughter after leaving St. Francis hospital at Waterloo Sunday. Her sickness dates back about a year ago. On August 26, 1892 she came to this country with step-brother and step-sister Ed Feulner and Mrs. Margaret Waring. She was married to Peter Hanson on Sept. 22, 1896. Their home was made on a farm four miles north of town until 1921 when they retired and moved to Strawberry Point.
Surviving besides her husband are three daughters and one son: Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Yonda and Mrs. Gordon (Theresa) Dalen of Lamoni, Mrs. Kenneth (Lydia) Kim of Blairstown and Ralph Hanson who resides on the home farm. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and a brother and sister in Germany.
