Funeral services were held for Mrs. Dora Lau, aged resident of Guttenberg, March 25, from the home at 1:30 to St. John's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. William Domres, pastor.

Mrs. Lau died Friday, March 22, at 10 a.m. She was in failing health for more than a year.

Burial was in Garnavillo cemetery in charge of the Steges funeral home with the following grandchildren as pallbearers: Keith Lau, Donald Scheffert, Roland Lau, Merrill Lau, Richard Lau and Don Lau.

Dora Margaret Lau was born Oct. 14, 1871, at Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oelkers.

On March 24, 1891, she was married to Chris. Lau at Elkport. They had eight children: Mrs. Grace Scheffert of Garber, Floyd of Elkader, Clarence of Oelwein, Marvin of Chicago, Gordon of Waterville, Herbert of Elkader, Eldon of Kansas City, Mo., and Harold of Guttenberg.

Twenty-six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 31, 1924, also three grandchildren and two brothers.
