Clayton County Register, 03 Jan. 1946.
MCGREGOR: Word was received here last week of the death of Mrs. Ruth Webb Clemens, who died in a hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., Thursday, Dec. 20, shortly after arriving in Florida to spend the winter. Mrs. Clemens with her sister, Miss Gertrude Webb, and brother, Ray, had left McGregor just a few weeks before for St. Petersburg. Mrs. Clemens suffered a heart attack and died soon afterward.
Ruth Webb was born in McGregor and was graduated from the local high school in 1882. After teaching country school for several years, she became bookkeeper for the Barron dry goods store, which she and her husband, Albert Clemens, later purchased and owned for many years. They retired from business several years ago.
Funeral services were held at St. Petersburg for Mrs. Clemens, and the body was placed in a vault and will be brought to McGregor for burial in the spring.
