Noggles, Maggie (Shaw) 1867 - 1942

Clayton County Register, 21 Oct. 1942.

Garber: Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday, Oct. 08 for Mrs. Maggie Noggle with the Rev. Albert Guetzlaff officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Harmony cemetery. Pallbearers were the six sons.

Maggie Shaw, daughter of Geo. and Mirinda Shaw, was born Dec. 18, 1867. When she was nine weeks old her mother died and from then on she made her home with her grandmother. She spent all her life in Clayton county and there received her public school training.

On Aug. 16, 1884, she married Milton Noggles who preceded her in death seven years ago. To this union thirteen children were born, nine of whom are still living.

Five years ago she suffered a stroke and has been ailing ever since. It was not until four weeks ago that it became necessary for her to be confined to her bed. She died Oct. 06 at 10:30 a.m.

She is survived by nine children, Jake Noggles, Garber, with whom she made her home since the death of her husband; Jim Noggles, Garber; Mrs. Maggie Ortmann of Strawberry Point; John Noggles, Elkader; Ben Noggles, Arlington; Mrs. Jane Boehm, Elkport; Roy Noggles of Delaware; Ernest Noggles, McGregor; Mrs. Elsie Curran, Elkport; 30 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
