Leona Regina Wiley

Funeral services were held for Leona Regina Wiley, 83, Dubuque; at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Elkader, on Thursday, April 15, 1982, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Littleport. Msgr. Francis Friedl officiated. Pallbearers were Terry Meese, Leland Scheffert, Jack Tinker, Duane Klink, Tom Kenney and Daniel Collins.

She was born September 25, 1898 at Littleport, the daughter of Anton and Kathryn Kafer. On September 20, 1920, she married Martin Bryan Wiley at Sacred Heart Church, Littleport. They were married for 40 years until his death in 1960. They had five children. She died Tuesday, April 13, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dubuque.

Survivors include: one son, Cletus, Rochester, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Irene) Hubbard, Elkader, and Mrs. Duane (Marion) Goedken, Dubuque, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Her husband, Martin, preceded her in death and two sons, Gerald and Kenneth.
