Guttenberg- Delos "Peanuts" Hamann, 85, of Guttenberg, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. today at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Guttenberg, where the family will greet friends two hours before service time. The Rev. Harold McMillin will officiate.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele Stevenson of Rockford, Minn., and Vicki Baker of Hiawatha.

Delos "Peanuts" Hamann passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital with his family by his side. Visitation was before services at the funeral home. Funeral services were Friday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg. Rev. Harold McMillin conducted.
Delos was born the son of Herman and Ruth (Schlake) Hamann on Nov. 16, 1922, in Garnavillo.
Delos graduated from the Garnavillo High School and then attended a year of college at Wartburg. In 1943 Delos joined the United States Army Air Corps. He was ROM Gunner and fought in battles in Northern France, Western Europe and Normandy.
On September 7, 1945 he was united in marriage with Shirley Reardon at the Farmersburg Lutheran Church. One month later he was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps.
Peanuts and Shirley made their home near Garnavillo where he drove truck for Standard Oil for many years. Peanuts was a 60-year member of the American Legion, he was also a member of the Elks Club in Arizona. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling snowmobiling, square dancing, playing bingo and cards.
Peanuts' memory will forever be cherished by his two daughters, Michele (Gary) Stevenson of Rockford, Minn., Vicki Baker of Hiawatha; three grandchildren, Patrick (Cynthia) Egan, Vaughn (Darla) Minger and Cindi Baker; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Victoria Minger.
Peanuts was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley.
