Dr. E. G. Kettelkamp, 88, long time Monona physician, died Sunday, June 7, 1981 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Garden City United Methodist (brick) Church, Monona, with the Rev. Carroll Brown officiating. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Enoch G. Kettelkamp, son of John and Esther Schneider Kettelkamp, was born April 27, 1893 on a farm near Pana, Illinois. He received his BS and premed degrees at Central Wesleyan College, Warrenton, Missouri and attended the University of Kansas, graduating as an MD in 1928. His internship was at Broadlawns in Des Moines. He practiced medicine in Olin until 1931, when he moved to Monona, where he continued his practice until 1981.

Dr, Kettelkamp was a veteran of World War I, a member of Clayton Lodge No. 70 of AF & AM, Leslie H. Smith American Legion Unit 519, life member of Iowa Academy Family Practice and member of the 50 year Club at the University of Kansas. In 1978 the Iowa Medical Society recognized him for 50 years of practice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Frieda and two brothers, Andy and Oscar.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elsie Norden, to whom he was married July 6, 1927; one daughter, Mrs. R. H. (Mary) Shepard, Des Moines; three sons, Dr. Donald Kettelkamp of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Richard Kettelkamp of Astoria, Oregon and Dr. William Kettelkamp of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Benjamin Kettelkamp, PhD of River Falls, Wisconsin; and 18 grandchildren.
