Miss Vernelda Fehlhafer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fehlhafer of McGregor, Iowa, and John E. Miehe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer J. Miehe of Elkader, were married at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Elkader, Saturday Feb. 14. The Rev. Cletus Hawes officiated. Miss Dorothy Hoth of St. Olaf, Iowa, a friend of the bride was maid of honor, and Miss Vergean Freitag of Elkader, a cousin of the bride was bridesmaid. Edward Fehlhafer, brother of the bride, served as best man, and Patrick Miehe, brother of the groom, was the other attendant. Ushers were Neil Freitag and John Moyna.
Mrs. Miehe is a graduate of the Elkader high school and taught in the rural schools of the county for four years. Her husband is a graduate of St. Joseph's school of Elkader and was recently returned from two years' service with the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan. He has received his honorable discharge and is now associated with his father and brothers in the Elkader Implement company.
After a brief wedding trip the new couple will be at home in Elkader.
