The Norway Lutheran church of St. Olaf, Iowa, was the setting Tuesday, Sept. 03, for the wedding of Miss Jeleen E. White and William Sutherland. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell J. White of Luana, formerly of Cresco. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sutherland of Anamosa, Iowa. The Rev. Bruce Boyce officiated. Vada Carol White, the bride's sister, served as bridesmaid, and Arlis White, brother of the bride, served as the groom's attendant.
Following the wedding ceremony a reception was served at which the wedding cake was made by the bride's cousin, Mrs. Jeleen Bilden of Postville, and it was cut and served by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Maxine Kappes.
The bride was graduated from the Cresco high school with the class of 1956, and was also Howard county's dairy queen of 1956. She has been employed as a waitress since her graduation from high school. The groom graduated from the Anamosa high school with the class of 1956 and has been employed at Cedar Rapids. He is a member of the Army Reserve.
The new couple will make their home in Anamosa, Iowa.
